SB 37 Protest

The SB 37 bill aimed to redirect local property tax revenues, traditionally allocated directly to public schools, into the state's general fund.

On 03/24/25, Governor Spencer Cox vetoed SB37, citing concerns over public trust and the message it would send regarding the state's commitment to public education.

The Utah Legislature wants to override the Governor's veto and, once again, put Utah's education system in jeopardy.
